General Information 

Our department is comprised of 41 personnel. This includes a Chief, Deputy Chief, 3 Battalion Chiefs, 6 Captains, 12 Driver/Operators, 2 Fire Inspectors, and 16 Firefighters. 

We operate with a minimum of 10 personnel while staffing 2 engines and an aerial apparatus split between 2 stations.

Our personnel are on duty for 24 hours with 48 hours off in-between with a Kelly day once a month. 

We answer approximately 2,600 calls for service each year. Thus averaging just under 7 calls a day. These include fire events, car accidents, medical emergencies, and various other calls for assistance.

Our average response time is 3-4 minutes.

We currently hold an ISO rating of 3.

Starting base salary for a probationary firefighter is $32,022

We have a non-contributory pension.

We do not have a residency requirement. 

Requirements for Employment

21 years of age

High school diploma or GED

Firefighter I and II certifications

Missouri EMT-B license or enrolled in a program 

Obtain a current Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)

Complete a general knowledge written exam
