Sanitation
The Sedalia Sanitation Department is responsible for the collection and disposal of residential and commercial refuse in Sedalia. With a fleet of five trucks, the city has residential pickup twice weekly and commercial pickup one time per week. The Department provides leaf pickup annually for one week during the month of October as well as Spring and Fall Clean-up weeks for all items excluding hazardous materials, building materials and yard waste.

Yard Waste Site - 28th Street and New York Avenue
The City operates a yard waste drop-off site for citizen use at the intersection of 28th Street and New York Avenue. Yard waste, including grass, brush, leaves, garden material, limbs and bushes, can be dropped off at no cost and wood chips will be available on-site for public use. Biosolids Compost Facility - 27882 Highway U (outside City Limits on S. Ingram Avenue)
The City established a Biosolids Compost Facility in November 2010, providing area residents with an opportunity to purchase quality compost for everything from small hobby gardens to large acreage farms. The current pricing schedule for compost is listed below:
