The City has been partnering with the Center for Human Services since late 2009 to offer recycling service in Sedalia. The Recycle Center, located at 2800 W. Main Street, is open to all members of the community as a safe, convenient and reliable way to recycle and reuse various consumer materials. Recycling also reduces the amount of solid waste that is sent to landfills and provides recycled product for a variety of industrial and municipal uses.
In 2011, the first satellite recycling center was opened in Thompson Hills Shopping Center on West Broadway Boulevard. In May 2013, a second satellite recycling center was established at 1002 S. Massachusetts Avenue.
