9/23/2016 - Mary Merritt to Serve as Sedalia's Fourth Ward Councilmember

At the September 19, 2016 City Council meeting, Mary Merritt (pictured right) was sworn in as the newest member of the Sedalia City Council by City Clerk Arlene Silvey.

Ms. Merritt, per the recommendation of Mayor Stephen Galliher and approval of the City Council, will complete former Fourth Ward Councilwoman Vicky Collins' term ending in April 2017. While Ms. Collins was unable to attend the September 19th council meeting, she was recognized for her service and a plaque will be presented to her at a future date. A reception for Ms. Collins and Ms. Merritt was held immediately following the City Council meeting.
