The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

City Supports Local Christmas Tree Recycling Program

(SEDALIA, MISSOURI) : The City of Sedalia, in cooperation with Central Missouri Electric Cooperative, the Missouri State Fair, and the Missouri Department of Conservation, is encouraging citizens to recycle their Christmas trees following the holiday season.  Trees may be dropped off at the north end of the Swine Pavilion on the Missouri State Fair Grounds no later than 12 noon on January 4, 2009 or the City Yard Waste Drop-Off Site at 28th Street & New York Avenue no later than 6 p.m. on January 3, 2009.  Curbside pickup is also available by calling Boy Scout Troop 54 at (660) 620-6461. 

This service is available free of charge to all Pettis County residents.  Please remove all ornaments, tinsel, stands, plastic bags, etc.  No other wood or debris will be accepted.  Wood chips from the trees will be available free of charge starting Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Missouri State Fair Grounds.  Unused wood chips will be used by the State Fair Grounds and City of Sedalia.
