(Sedalia, Missouri) - After review of the investigation conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office has determined that no charges will be filed in relation to the June 30 shooting of David Morgan. This determination brings the investigation of this incident to a close.

The City of Sedalia is satisfied with the results of the thorough, objective reviews completed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the County Prosecutor. The City is pleased that the investigation has confirmed that Officer Cook conducted himself in a professional manner that was in-line with his training and with Department policy.

Officer John Cook, a veteran member of the Sedalia Police Department, will be returning to Full Duty Status immediately.
